Overview
Work at the Orange Door, Croydon with those who choose to use violence. Permanent full time with predictable hours (9am-5pm).
Location and travel
The position is based within the Orange Door Outer East, at Croydon. The role provides responses to perpetrators of family violence.
Responsibilities
- Support the integrated team to provide specialist services to adults using violence referred to The Orange Door.
- Work as part of an integrated team to respond to family violence and children and family vulnerability concerns through the provision of: screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions.
- Allocation of services and coordination of referrals.
- Collaborate with the Hub team to support integrated risk assessment and planning, including participating in case conferences, meetings and resolution of stakeholder issues.

Skills you will use day to day
- Experience working with perpetrators of violence, men/fathers.
- Working through an intersectional lens.
- Ability to work with children and families and/or family violence where there are complex needs and risk issues.
- Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
- Ability to identify, assess and prioritise risks and needs of clients in a whole-of-family approach.
- Ability to recognise limits of own expertise and to seek advice or refer clients to other specialists.
- Assessment skills, L17 referrals, Best Interests Case Practice Model and MARAM knowledge would be highly regarded.

- A salary starting at around $110,000 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 6 SCHADS)
- Negotiable through increments dependent upon experience.

The following applies on a national level for specialist family violence practitioners. All applications are welcome and there are personalised pathways to employment based on whether you hold a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification, or are working towards or can meet the new mandatory minimum qualification policy requirement via one of the available employment pathways.

Mandatory requirements include a current Working with Children Check and the ability to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
