About the role
As a Development Coach at the Frankston Thrive Hub, you’ll play a vital role in empowering local community members impacted by structural barriers to take meaningful steps toward employment and education. You’ll be the first point of connection—welcoming participants, building trust, and guiding them to the services and supports they need to thrive.
Using an Advantaged Thinking approach, you’ll recruit and engage individuals, helping them unlock their potential through personalised coaching and hands‑on group learning experiences. You’ll support them in identifying career goals, overcoming personal barriers, and accessing the right resources—from mental health services to training opportunities.
This is a deeply rewarding role for those who are passionate about social justice, supporting individuals and communities, and creating real change in people’s lives.
- Engage with community members accessing the Thrive Hub by responding to their identified needs and providing supported internal and external referrals.
- Assess participants’ skills, capabilities and non‑vocational barriers, and provide vocational guidance tailored to the participant’s goals.
- Work with participants to identify their education and employment goals and support them to achieve outcomes in these areas.
- Assist participants in achieving employment placements.
- Collaborate with local schools to run engaging group activities that foster skill‑building, confidence, and social connections.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community development, youth work and/or education, or extensive relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in an outcomes‑focussed environment.
- Confidence and capability in engaging and supporting people from diverse backgrounds, including those with unique needs and behaviours, by recognising their strengths and potential.
- A depth of knowledge about the causes and consequences of unemployment and the strategies that are successful in helping people follow pathways to work.
If this sounds like the right fit for you
We’d love to hear from you.
