Salary Range: From $68,000 + Super (commensurate with experience)

THE ROLE

U@MQ is currently seeking a full-time Development Swimming Coach to join the Macquarie University Sports and Aquatics Centre (MUSAC) team. Reporting to the Head Coach, the Development Swimming Coach will be responsible for delivering face-to-face training sessions for the 14 & Under Development program, targeting Metropolitan & State Age qualifiers.

ABOUT YOU

You have a customer-centric mindset combined with demonstrated experience teaching and coaching within the aquatics industry. You have the ability to work well in a team environment, as well as the initiative to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coach and develop swimmers from the junior transition phase (completion of the Learn to Swim program) through to Junior Competition phase within the MQU Squad program.
2. Develop and implement seasonal training plans for junior development aged swimmers, with a focus on technical stroke correction and competition-based performance.
3. Provide guidance to swimmers of all abilities, adapting stroke models to suit varying skill levels.
4. Attend and coach at MQU club races and internal/external competitions.
5. Plan and coordinate MQU internal club racing opportunities in consultation with the Head Coach.
6. Develop and implement the MQU Swimming Club volunteer committee.
7. Collaborate with the Head Coach and Age Group Swimming Coach on student retention activities.
8. Assist with squad program development through use of management systems.
9. Coach School Holiday Squad Programs.
10. Maintain accurate athletes/swimmers' progression records.
11. Complete administrative duties, including responding to parent enquiries & providing student feedback.

ABOUT US

Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is a multi-purpose venue located at Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde. The facility includes a 6-lane indoor heated pool and an 8-lane outdoor Olympic-sized heated pool. The coaching team provides expert coaching and technical guidance to competitive swimmers of all ages.
