About the role
WorkSafe WA plays an integral role in upholding healthy and safe workplaces in Western Australia, reducing workplace incidents to ensure workers return home safely every day. We drive workplace change through education, specialist advice and enforcement.
As a WorkSafe Inspector/Investigator you will have a vital role in supporting the investigation of serious and fatal incidents, obtaining information to establish the facts and assessing those facts against the State Work Health & Safety legislation. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively with Senior Inspector/Investigators, ensuring investigative integrity and adherence to legal standards.
Your duties will include the assessment of incident notifications, collecting evidence-based information from a variety of sources, and preparing high-quality reports and recommendations regarding investigation outcomes. You will also occasionally be required to attend workplaces and conduct relevant enquiries relating to incidents and take appropriate enforcement action.
The role demands strong analytical and problem solving skills, highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to operate in challenging environments—including, on occasions, remote locations and outside standard hours.

Qualifications obtained outside of Australia must be provided with an assessment from the Overseas Qualifications Unit to ensure they meet Australian Standards (this is a free service).
To work for LGIRS, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start. If deemed suitable, LGIRS will coordinate and pay for your NCCHC as part of your pre-employment checks.

- Provide an example of an investigation you have completed, detailing the methods used to plan and scope the investigation, and methods used to establish the facts and determine the outcomes.
- Demonstrate your experience in preparing high-level reports for incident investigations and developing information and advice regarding investigation outcomes
- Provide an example to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to your work environment
