Livestock Compliance Inspector and Senior Livestock Compliance Inspector

Salary: Level 3-4, $86,439 - $100,526 pa, (pro rata) Public Sector CSA Agreement 2024

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is seeking to establish a pool of suitable applicants for the roles of Livestock Compliance Inspector and Senior Livestock Compliance Inspector.

As a Livestock Compliance Inspector, you will be responsible for undertaking inspections on farms, saleyards, and intensive production facilities, conducting investigations that achieve positive animal welfare outcomes. You will monitor and implement compliance activities pursuant to the Animal Welfare Act 2002 and other legislation in relation to livestock.

The Senior Livestock Compliance Inspector will also undertake these duties, along with assisting in the development of operational policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance is maintained.

We are looking for individuals with:

- Knowledge and understanding of livestock welfare, or similar, with the ability to learn.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant compliance legislation.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Good organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands to meet deadlines.
