About the Role

The Risk and Controls Assurance Manager plays a key role in supporting the execution of the Controls Assurance Program and enhancing the organisation’s risk and compliance maturity. This role bridges Line 1 and Line 2 functions, ensuring effective oversight of incidents, issues, and timely remediation.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and maintain the Controls Assurance Program (CAP);
- Conduct controls testing and report on effectiveness and gaps;
- Support compliance with CPS 230 and other regulatory standards;
- Assist in executing the Quality Assurance Program and analysing QA data;
- Oversee incident management, ensuring timely investigation and remediation;
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for leadership and regulators; AND
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed assurance practices.

Key Qualifications

- Proven 3–5 years experience in Internal Audit, Controls Assurance, or Risk Management;
- Strong understanding of APRA Prudential Standards (CPS 220 and CPS 230);
- Knowledge of Life Insurance products (Income Protection, Trauma, TPD) is highly regarded;
- Familiarity with AFSL and Corporations Act compliance frameworks;
- Exceptional analytical, listening, and data interpretation skills;
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and time management;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; AND
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
