This permanent, flexible full-time position sits within the Workforce and Client Experience Division, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of workforce capability and culture. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing enterprise-wide strategies that support a contemporary vision for trusted administration and excellent client service. The organisation is committed to fostering an inclusive, healthy workplace where your expertise in organisational development will help drive strategic priorities, build resilience, and nurture a collaborative environment. With a strong focus on flexibility and professional growth, this role offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact while working alongside knowledgeable colleagues who value teamwork and shared success.

What you’ll do

As a Workforce Capability Lead, you will be at the heart of organisational transformation efforts. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve steering major projects that strengthen workforce planning and talent management practices while nurturing a positive workplace culture. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across various divisions to deliver impactful solutions that address both immediate needs and long-term goals. By preparing detailed project plans and providing insightful advice to senior leaders, you will help shape policy decisions that influence the entire organisation. Your ability to foster enduring relationships with stakeholders will be crucial as you facilitate change initiatives designed to improve employee engagement and overall capability. Success in this role requires adaptability in navigating complex environments, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for supporting others through inclusive practices.

- Lead the design, development, and delivery of key organisational capability projects, policies, and strategies focused on workforce planning, talent management, and culture enhancement.

- Prepare comprehensive project plans using recognised methodologies and tools to ensure timely delivery of fit-for-purpose outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.

- Provide expert advice as well as high-quality reports, submissions, and briefings to senior management to inform decision-making processes.

- Champion workforce improvement activities aimed at increasing employee engagement, building capability, and driving cultural and performance improvements throughout the organisation.

- Identify opportunities for process innovation and present quality recommendations that support continuous improvement in organisational capability.

- Manage stakeholder relationships by negotiating, consulting, and collaborating to maintain effective partnerships that underpin successful project delivery.

- Engage broadly with internal teams and external partners to embed organisational development initiatives within complex environments.

- Support the Manager of Employee Experience in defining, designing, and delivering initiatives that align with strategic workforce priorities.

- Facilitate workshops and consultations that encourage input from diverse perspectives to inform future practice.

- Monitor progress against key milestones and adapt approaches as needed to ensure successful implementation of workforce strategies.

What you bring

Your experience as a Workforce Capability Lead will demonstrate your ability to navigate complex organisational structures while championing best practices in workforce strategy. You bring exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to connect meaningfully with colleagues at all levels—your empathy ensures everyone feels heard during consultations or workshops. Your background includes successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines without compromising quality or professionalism. You have shown commitment to creating inclusive environments where health and wellbeing are central values; your approach encourages collaboration rather than competition. In addition to technical knowledge gained through formal education or hands-on experience in organisational development roles, you possess an innate curiosity about emerging trends which helps inform innovative solutions tailored for evolving business needs.

- Demonstrated understanding of organisational design principles, talent management frameworks, capability development strategies, and performance measurement systems within large or complex organisations.

- Highly developed communication skills with proven ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation using empathy and interpersonal sensitivity.

- Experience influencing outcomes through facilitation, consultation, and collaborative problem-solving approaches in multi-stakeholder settings.

- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances while maintaining focus on delivering quality results within tight timeframes.

- Track record of building enduring relationships based on trust, respect, and shared goals that enable collaborative achievement of customer-focused outcomes.

- Commitment to fostering healthy workplaces where inclusivity, safety, wellbeing, and mutual support are prioritised every day.

- Proficiency in preparing clear reports, submissions, briefings or presentations tailored for senior management audiences.

- Capacity for critical thinking combined with openness to new ideas that stimulate innovation in organisational practice.

- Relevant degree or postgraduate studies in organisational development or related discipline (highly regarded but not mandatory).

- Familiarity with project management methodologies including planning tools used for coordinating complex initiatives.
