Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Network Engineer to join our team within the Banking and Financial Services industry, based in the heart of Sydney CBD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, supporting and optimizing the network infrastructure critical to our organization's operations.

Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and security in compliance with industry standards.

- Monitor and troubleshoot network issues, providing proactive solutions to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations.

- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and support cloud-based solutions and hybrid infrastructure.

- Implement and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and other network devices, ensuring security and compliance with organizational policies.

- Conduct network performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization to support the growing needs of the business.

- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks and ensure the network is protected against internal and external threats.

- Manage disaster recovery and contingency plans for the organization/'s network infrastructure.

- Document network architecture, configurations, and processes for easy reference and compliance purposes.

- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance the bank/'s technology landscape.

Requirements

- Bachelor/'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Proven experience (4+ years) as a Network Engineer, preferably within the Financial Services sector.

- Proficiency in managing network systems, including routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.

- Strong understanding of network security protocols and hands-on experience with security tools.

- Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid setups is a plus.

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on complex infrastructure challenges.

- A proactive mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
