Senior Network Engineer - FTC to September 2026 page is loaded## Senior Network Engineer - FTC to September 2026locations: Sydneytime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR3599* **Hybrid Work Environment*** **Play a critical role working across the Bank's Network systems*** **Fixed Term Contact until September 2026**The Bank is looking for a Senior Network Engineer until 30 June 2024 with great Cisco network, firewall and Cisco DNA Centre experience who are keen to develop their cyber security, automation and cloud credentials.The Bank is currently on the journey towards Software Defined networking and your skills and experience will be used and uplifted to support these key next generation networks including ACI, Zero Trust Networking with Software Defined Access, SD-WAN & Azure Cloud.**About the role*** Undertake the provisioning, maintenance, security hardening, capacity planning and performance testing of network (data, storage) systems infrastructure* Participate in 2nd line IT incident and security response capability for network infrastructure* Produce design, automation scripts, technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions* Improve, harden, test, implement, monitor, and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues* Manage the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance and security improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate* Undertake acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment* Occasional scheduled work at our Business Resumption Site at Bella Vista will be required* Work with cyber security team to improve Bank’s protections and remediate vulnerabilities**About you*** Degree preferred in IT coupled with Industry accreditations in Cisco and ITIL* Strong expertise with network tools such as Cisco DNA Centre* Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure covering both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)* Strong experience with Firewalls Cisco and/or Palo Alto and applicable management tools to manage such as Cisco Security Manager (CSM)* Strong communications (data/voice/video) infrastructure experience* Proficient in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation* Strong experience or willingness to learn: Python and relevant scripting languages to automate activities.* Good understanding of IT infrastructure and service management practices.* Knowledge or willingness to learn: Network management tools such as Statseeker and Infoblox* Demonstrated knowledge with VMWare products such as NSX and of of F5 (LTM, GTM and BIGIQ)* Cisco SDDC and Cisco storage fabric management experience is desirable**Be More** Working for an organisation that truly makes a difference to the people of Australia, we can offer development and career opportunities in a collaborative environment that supports your growth, wellbeing and promotes flexibility.
