About The Role

- Support NDIS participants in location and surrounding areas.
- Work at the participant’s home or a community location (you will be required to drive to/from sessions).
- Support participants across all ages and stages of life.
- Work under the guidance of the primary therapist (Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Key Worker or Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner) to enable participants to develop greater independence and work towards reaching their full potential.

Typical Habit Coach Sessions

You will implement the therapy plan provided by the primary therapist. Sessions vary by participant and goals as outlined in the therapy plan. Examples of goals include:

- Supporting Independence: Help a high-school-aged participant independently access public transport for commuting to and from school.
- Promoting Healthy Habits: Support an adult participant in grocery shopping and weekly meal preparation to foster healthy eating habits.
- Encouraging Social Engagement: Assist a 5-year-old participant in completing after-school routines with a focus on social play and turn-taking.

What you need to be successful

To work as a Habit Coach, you’ll:

- Be studying a university degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Physiotherapy (minimum 2nd year).
- OR have completed a Certificate 3 or 4 in Allied Health Assistance or an equivalent qualification, with demonstrated experience in a similar position (e.g., Allied Health Assistant, disability support worker, education support assistant).
