Role Overview
We’re seeking a driven Business Development Manager to grow Cromarty’s Automation Group. You’ll identify new opportunities, build lasting client relationships, and work alongside our talented team to deliver cutting-edge automation and OT solutions, driving the strong, sustainable growth that’s at the heart of our vision.
Key Responsibilities
Identify & Develop Opportunities– Proactively seek out new business across target industries, including manufacturing, mining, O&G and utilities.
Build Client Relationships– Establish and maintain strong, long-term partnerships based on trust, technical expertise, and value creation.
Collaborate with Technical Teams– Work closely with our technical team to shape solutions that meet client needs and deliver measurable results.
Drive the Sales Process– Lead opportunity qualification, proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations through to close.
Market Engagement– Represent Cromarty Automation at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to raise awareness of our capabilities.
Strategic Growth Input– Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and client feedback to inform our Automation Group growth strategy.
Achieve Performance Targets– Meet or exceed agreed sales, revenue, and pipeline goals in line with Cromarty Automation’s sustainable growth objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven success in business development, sales, or account management within automation, OT, industrial controls, or related engineering sectors.
Strong understanding of automation technologies, including PLC/SCADA systems, MES, industrial networking, instrumentation, and robotics.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships across diverse industries.
Skilled in leading the sales process from opportunity identification to contract execution.
Commercial acumen with the ability to create compelling value propositions and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
Willingness to travel as required.
