Job Description

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive the organisation/'s DevOps capability, mentor a skilled engineering team and shape the future of its infrastructure. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery—overseeing the design, implementation and management of secure, high-performance Azure environments while embedding best practices in automation, performance and security.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor the DevOps team, fostering continuous improvement and skills development
- Architect, build and optimise secure, scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure
- Implement and refine Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines
- Drive cloud security design and enforcement across identity, network and data protection
- Monitor, tune and optimise infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance
- Collaborate with development, security and business teams to align technical solutions with operational goals
- Own incident management processes and lead root-cause analysis
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation for systems, processes and architectural designs

Education/Certifications Required

- Bachelor/'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)

Knowledge/Skills Required

- 5-7 years in DevOps or infrastructure engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven expertise designing, deploying and operating Azure cloud environments
- Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code skills (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD pipeline development
- Strong background in cloud security controls, IAM, encryption and compliance frameworks
- Experience with monitoring, performance tuning and cost-optimisation tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to mentor engineers
