We are seeking skilled and passionate individuals to join our team as Chief Engineer on our cement carrier Goliath, based in the Bass Strait.

About the Role:

  • Reporting to the Master, the Chief Engineer oversees the Engineer Department, responsible for all machinery and equipment assigned to their care.
  • Safe and efficient operation of all machinery and electrical equipment.
  • Maintenance of the ship, including steelwork repairs.
  • Issuance of Vessel Work Orders.
  • Reporting deficiencies affecting the vessel's safe operation.
  • Liaising with technical managers for regulatory compliance.

Your Qualifications:

  • AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 certification.
  • Minimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer.
  • MSIC Card (or ability to obtain).
  • Working Safely at Heights certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Current AMSA Medical certification.
  • Australian Citizenship or Valid Work Visa.
