About the PositionWe are currently seeking a permanent full-time Chief Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath based in the Bass Strait.
The successful candidate will report to the Master and be responsible for:
- The safe and efficient operation of all machinery and electrical equipment and maintenance of the vessel;
- Steelwork repairs and general maintenance excluding cleaning and painting;
- Issuing Work Orders and reporting deficiencies affecting vessel safety and efficiency;
- Liaising with technical managers for soundness of the vessel.
Educational requirement: ASMA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 1 (required)
Minimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer (required);
MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain); Working Safely at Heights (required or ability to obtain); Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (required or ability to obtain); Current AMSA Medical (required or ability to obtain).
