Overview

The Australian has posed an opening for a multimedia editor, based in Sydney. The multimedia editor is assigned to work with the paper’s editorial staff in creating new podcasts and audio/video material to be seeded on The Australian’s digital and social media channels. Some of those assignments will require fieldwork. The ideal candidate should have a good deal of journalism experience and content production. They must be capable of creating the format and flow of a podcast production through Adobe Creative Suite and Self-Managed Desktop, including choice of music and editing segments.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the editorial staff to produce podcasts and audio/video material for The Australian’s digital and social media channels.

- Conduct fieldwork as required to gather materials and stories.

Qualifications

- Strong journalism experience and content production background.

- Ability to shape the format and flow of a podcast production using Adobe Creative Suite and Self-Managed Desktop, including music selection and editing segments.
