About the role

Reporting to the General Manager of Calvary Kooyong, the Retirement Manager Hyson Apartments, ensures the provision of high quality and holistic customer service on a daily basis, managing all aspects of independent living accommodation including the coordination of maintenance, refurbishment works, sales and resident activities in partnership with relevant members of the Calvary Kooyong team.

Calvary Kooyong is an integrated retirement living, health and residential care precinct in Caulfield South in Melbourne. The integrated precinct encompasses 69 premium retirement living in the Hyson Apartments, an 83 contemporary residential care home in the Huntly Suites, Calvary in-home care, Calvary Bethlehem’s sub-acute specialist health services including a 32 bed inpatient unit, centre based clinics, research and community palliative care service, and a breadth of shared and tenancy services.

Key Position Objectives:

- Ensure the Hyson Apartment village is maintained at the level required to deliver a high quality standard of living for residents.

- Maintain optimum occupancy levels by undertaking face to face sales and letting activities in line with organisational policy and implementing new sales initiatives.

- Support village operations by managing client information systems.

- Create a welcoming environment and develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, providing in-depth orientation for new residents and coordinating village activities.

- Enable the independent living of residents through facilitating delivery of on-site services and supporting access to facilities available at Calvary Kooyong in line with organisational processes and policies.

About you

- Previous management and industry experience in the Retirement and Aged Care Sector

- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the retirement village sector, current reforms, relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks; including experience working under the Retirement Villages Act 1986 and the Retirement Villages (Records and Notices) Regulations 2015, Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Regulations 2017

- Proven highly developed sales, negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills

- Demonstrated competencies in customer service, the co-ordination of a range of complex services and building effective customer and stakeholder relationships

- Extensive experience using data management systems, client management systems and MS Office with the ability to analyse data and provide reports

- Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver and monitor service provision within budgetary and operational requirements

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills
