ROLE SNAPSHOT

Broad System Administrator role operating in a small/close-knit team wearing 'multiple hats', that includes the administration of the company's internal network/systems infrastructure + delivering L1-3 IT support to circa 90 end users across 2 sites.

A key element of the role is to assist in the uplift & modernization of their IT infrastructure through identifying issues/problems, making recommendations, then implementing practical solutions that ensure reliability & security.

Hybrid working - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH.

Responsibilities include:

- Administer Windows Server, incl AD, GP, DNS/DHCP, + some basic Linux
- Server monitoring & patching, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
- Support & administer Office 365.
- Manage storage & backup solutions
- Troubleshoot hardware/software & networking issues.
- Manage & support virtualization platforms.
- Configure & support network devices (Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, VPN, WAN/LAN).
- Maintain cyber security protocols & best practice - incl DR planning.
- Prepare effective and up-to-date documentation
- L1-3 IT Support to internal users (Win 11).

Upcoming projects:

- Upgrades for Windows Server (2012-2022) & Active Directory.
- Virtualisation upgrade/implementation.
- UEM and remote monitoring tool selection/implementation.
- Environment assessment/discovery to identify issues, risks, opportunities for improvement.
- Update technical documentation & processes.
- DR planning.
- Cyber security uplift.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / PERSONAL QUALITIES

Suitable for a Wintel System Administrator comfortable undertaking a broad role inside small-sized IT team, including IT Support.

Ideal for someone curious and inquisitive with a passion for IT (a tinkerer) who enjoys proactively identifying, understanding, then fixing problems.

Proven history uplifting dated IT environments is needed.

The following is required:

- Broad System Administration experience across Windows Server, Office 365, virtualisation, storage, backups, networking etc.
- Core competencies across Wintel and on-prem datacentre technologies.
- Comfortable providing L1-3 IT Support to end users.
- Demonstrated experience successfully navigating and delivering infrastructure uplift / modernisation projects.
- Being naturally curious & inquisitive who loves problem solving and fixing IT issues.
- Approachable and patient personality who isn't afraid to proactively seek out and fix user issues.
- Respectful team player who enjoys knowledge sharing to collaboratively overcome problems.
- Warehousing experience is beneficial.
- Relevant certifications.

This is a full-time permanent role located in the Sutherland Shire (hybrid working) and is offering circa $110,000 - $120,000 (plus super) - depending on experience.
