Facilities Operations Centre (FOC) Engineer, AWS

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities

- Monitors the data centre Amazon facilities infrastructure platform

- Serves as a Point of Contact for internal and external teams

- Assists with the development of communication and escalation protocols designed to improve the team’s performance

- Contributes to outage post mortem analysis

- Ensures records are updated in a timely manner

- Assists with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts

- Assists with the development of tools that will enhance the team’s performance

- Supports a 24X7 environment (shift work which may require weekends and holidays)

Security Clearance

Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability).

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of Electrical or Mechanical Experience

- 1+ year of experience working with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems

- 2+ years’ experience in Data Centre Engineering/Operations

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years’ experience working in a large-scale data centre and 3+ years’ experience in a NOC (Network Operations Centre) or similar

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access)

- Ability to maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting tools and follow and complete support procedures, system documentation, issue tracking entries, root cause analysis and complex problem solving skills
