About the role

We currently have a position available for a reliable and passionate Companion carer to join our team in Wagga Wagga, showing empathy and treating others with dignity and respect. You'll also need to have a natural ability to build relationships that make a difference, be honest, helpful and dependable, making you a great asset to our team. The role will vary between day and night shifts, so sleepover experience is essential.

Responsibilities will include:

- Working within a person-centred, enabling environment that respects the rights and needs of each client
- Assisting clients with daily errands, companionship and support
- Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
- Preparing meals as needed
- Observe, care and report any changes in the health and wellbeing of the client
- Responding to emergency situations
- Weekend and overnight shifts
- Experience with people experiencing cognitive decline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges
- Experience with sleepovers
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid & CPR certificates

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $40.93 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates
