About the role

We currently have a position available for a reliable and passionate Companion carer to join our team in Wagga Wagga. You will need to be friendly, positive and demonstrate client-focused behaviour, showing empathy and treating others with dignity and respect. You'll also need to have a natural ability to build relationships that make a difference, be honest, helpful and dependable, making you a great asset to our team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working within a person-centred, enabling environment that respects the rights and needs of each client
  • Assisting clients with various gardening and yard maintenance supports
  • Assisting clients with daily errands, companionship and support
  • Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
  • Preparing food if needed
  • Observe, care and report any changes in the health and wellbeing of the client
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Working weekend and overnight shifts as rostered
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificates
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening & Orientation

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $39.55 per hour

Schedule:

  • Afternoon shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

  • Penalty rates

Licence/Certification:

  • Police Check (Required)
