Enrolled Nurse - Maternity Services - Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital - Perm FT/PT 💼 South Western Sydney Local Health District REQ619513 Employment Type: Permanent Full Time or Part Time, up to 38 hours per week Location: Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Position Classification: Enrolled Nurse Remuneration: $33.77 – $36.70 per hour About the Opportunity As an enrolled nurse, supporting midwifery staff in the postnatal ward provides a unique opportunity to deliver compassionate, hands‑on care to women as they recover from childbirth. This role involves assisting with monitoring maternal wellbeing, offering guidance with newborn care, and providing reassurance during what can be an exciting and overwhelming time for families. Working closely with midwives, the enrolled nurse helps ensure that mothers receive safe, evidence‑based care while fostering a nurturing environment that promotes confidence and bonding between parent and child. In addition, the role extends to conducting newborn hearing tests as part of the Statewide Infant Screening – Hearing (SWISH) program. Early detection of hearing loss improves a child’s long‑term communication and developmental outcomes. By performing these screenings and liaising with families and specialist services when follow‑up is required, the enrolled nurse contributes to a holistic model of care that safeguards both immediate and future health of the baby. What You'll be Doing The Enrolled Nurse works with the registered nurse or midwife as part of the health care team and demonstrates competence in the provision of safe, compassionate, quality person‑centered care.
