Are you a passionate and experienced nurse ready to step into a vital role at the frontline of care for survivors of violence and trauma? We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) – Violence, Abuse & Neglect (VAN), to deliver expert, compassionate medical and forensic care to those who need it most.

About the Opportunity

As a CNS 2 – VAN, you will provide critical, trauma-informed care including crisis intervention, forensic examinations, follow-up medical support, and health navigation to people aged 14 and older who have experienced sexual assault, domestic and family violence, and other forms of abuse and neglect. This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical skills with advanced forensic practice in an integrated, multidisciplinary environment. In this role you will –

- Deliver expert medical and forensic responses with autonomy and compassion.

- Support victim-survivors with crisis care and ongoing health navigation.

- Collect forensic evidence and contribute medico-legal expertise in court when required.

- Mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of innovative service models.

- Work collaboratively with police, judicial systems, and other healthcare professionals to provide culturally safe, patient-centered care.

- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, ensuring timely and effective response.

- Drive education and workforce development around best practices for caring for people impacted by violence and abuse.

About You

- You are a registered nurse or nurse practitioner with 3+ years’ experience, ideally in sexual or women’s health, qualified or eligible as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, and enrolled or ready to enroll in the ECAV Graduate Certificate (or equivalent).

- You have strong clinical and forensic nursing skills, delivering trauma-informed, culturally safe, victim-centered care to clients of all genders affected by violence, abuse, and neglect.

- You are an excellent communicator and team player, experienced in working with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated psychosocial, medical, and forensic care.

- You are committed to service improvement, skilled at driving change, engaging stakeholders, and coordinating clinical audits to enhance care quality.

- You are autonomous with advanced patient assessment and care planning skills, able to prioritise effectively and deliver education and clinical support to colleagues.
