Required January 2026
Westborough High School is a caring, vibrant and happy learning community. We value all our staff and work together to make a difference to children’s lives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational teacher of music to join our school.
Westborough has a strong and stable staffing platform and can develop staff whatever their career stage. Applications are welcomed from newly qualified teachers, as well as those with more experience.
You will be joining a successful and well-established Creative Arts team and are warmly welcomed to visit with one of our senior leaders or headteacher.
Following the Section 8 Ofsted inspection in June 2022, Westborough continues to be a good school and ‘leaders are ambitious’ for the pupils. There is a real team approach at Westborough, where everyone, no matter what their role in school is, wants the ‘best’ for pupils. Ofsted were very complimentary about the culture of the school, describing it as, ‘welcoming and inclusive.’
Applications are welcomed from candidates who:
- Consistently deliver highly effective lessons in your subject area
- Have experience of developing effective teaching resources and strategies
- Have the skills and energy to inspire, lead and motivate others
As a valued member of our team we can offer:
- Clear and shared values and expectations
- A commitment to tailored professional development
- A stimulating work environment
- An experienced, highly committed and support leadership team
If you want to work with us on our journey to excellence, then we would like to hear from you.
The closing date for applications to be returned is 9.00 a.m. on Monday 20th October 2025 and completed applications should be returned to Fiona Sharp, PA to the Headteacher at the school or via email fsharp@w-h-s.org.uk (CVs will not be accepted.)
Based on the quality and quantity of applications received, Westborough High School reserves the right to interview sooner than the specified dates above. Applicants will be notified of this where possible. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.
We look forward to welcoming your application and if you require any further information about the role, please contact the school on telephone: 01924 469549 or you can visit the school website at www.w-h-s.org.uk
Westborough is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people and expects all workers, volunteers and employees to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be appointed subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks including references and satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Records with Children’s Barred List Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS.)
Where a role involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children, it is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. This is a position working in regulated activity and therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
All shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches as part of due diligence checks and in accordance with KCSIE 2024 and are required to complete a self-declaration form prior to interview.
