North Regional TAFE is establishing an open recruitment pool to appoint suitable applicants for vacancies as they arise, on a casual basis.

Important details

- Application reviews: Applications are typically assessed every 3 months, subject to operational needs.

- Pool selection: Only applicants assessed as suitable through a merit selection process may be considered for the pool. Appointment from the pool to a vacancy is not guaranteed.

- Outcome: You will be advised if you are recommended for appointment to the pool or unsuccessful. If unsuccessful, you may request feedback and may reapply in the future.

- Appointments: Appointments may be made from this pool until 6 July 2026.

Position title: AccessAbility Assistant

Salary: Level 2, $49.15 per hour, PSCSAA

Role purpose and responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting students with a disability to fully participate in the learning environment and successfully complete training and assessment requirements.

- Provide personal support and assistance to students with disability within the learning environment, considering barriers to learning identified in referrals, ensuring WHS requirements, college policies and professional boundaries are observed.

- Identify and implement effective working practices with students, including clarifying information, assisting with access to adaptive/assistive technology and appropriate learning resources, and other tasks as determined by a student’s vocational training needs.

- Maintain student records including notes on learning support delivered and address needs with guidance as required.

Success criteria

To be successful, you will be an enthusiastic, supportive individual with an understanding of the needs of students with disability and how to empower them in a vocational education environment.
