- Classification: From $43.22 per hour + applicable penalties (Level 2 - Victorian Disability Services (NGO) Agreement 2019)
- Work Schedule: Shifts operate within: Monday - Friday 8.30AM - 3.30PM

Do you have a passion for helping people achieve their goals? Have experience working within a day centre program? This flexible opportunity fits 8.30am - 3.30pm while the kids are at school or while studying. We run activities such as arts and crafts, accessing the community, games and movies. We have an exciting opportunity to join the genU community team as a Disability Day Service Practitioner to support our clients in reaching their full potential while engaging in skill-building activities in and around Rosebud, VIC.
Key Responsibilities
As a Disability Day Service Practitioner, you will, but not limited to:
- Support clients in adventure-based learning, empowering them to push beyond their boundaries.
- Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support.
- Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.
- Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4.
- Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing
About You
We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal Day Services Practitioner will:
- Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances.
- Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports.
- Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
- Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.
- Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

Requirements
To be eligible, you must have or be willing to complete:
- Certificate 3 in Disability or equivalent;
- Current First Aid and CPR certification;
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain);
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
