Summary: The Consultant - Pain Medicine leads the multidisciplinary team to provide a consultative and treatment service for patients with acute, chronic non-cancer and cancer pain in consultation with the department’s multidisciplinary pain management team. Promotes patient safety and quality of care. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. Works with the Head of Department and other Consultants to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets. Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Selection Process

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service.
