The Role

HC drivers delivering mineral concentrate from mine to Port. Heavy Vehicle hook truck bin operator for bulk waste transport services located at St. Helens on the East Coast of Tasmania.

Bulk waste transport services on the East Coast of Tasmania located at St Helens. Waste services provided for St Mary's, Fingal, Pyengana, Weldborough and Anson’s Bay using a hook bin truck.

Responsibilities

- Efficient operation of the site’s vehicles
- Complete all necessary associated documentation (such as the preparation and signing of cartage dockets and service requests)
- Follow appropriate company procedures
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of deficiencies in the delivery of product
- Undertake supervision work when directed
- Take good care of vehicles / plant under your care
- Ensure compliance with all NHVR regulations
- Ensure compliance with fatigue management
- Ensure compliance with loading requirements, axle weights, adhering to vehicle specific permits

Qualifications and Experience

- Heavy Combination (HC) Drivers Licence or specific license as required
- Minimum of 2 years truck driving experience
- Demonstrate suitable driving history with HC or HR licence.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
- Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
- Ability to work well within a small team environment
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, NHVR regulations and permitting standards
- Dayshift only, weekends and public holidays, with desire to work overtime
- Basic mechanical knowledge in dealing with heavy vehicles
- Good driving skills for heavy haulage trucks
- Good skills in operating other equipment used by Qube
- Sound communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Customer focused and responsive to customer requirements
- Performance and task driven
- Integrity
- Good time management
