About the Business Unit

Reporting to a FAS Senior Assessor you will be responsible for reviewing trauma informed victim recognition statements and coordinating victim recognition meetings. You will have direct contact with related victims and their support people in advance of the victim recognition meeting to ensure it is undertaken in a trauma informed, victim centric and culturally safe way, including working with the dedicated FAS Marra Yattakunar pathway for Aboriginal victims of crime.

About the Role

Reporting to a FAS Senior Assessor you will be responsible for reviewing trauma informed victim recognition statements and coordinating victim recognition meetings. You will have direct contact with related victims and their support people in advance of the victim recognition meeting to ensure it is undertaken in a trauma informed, victim centric and culturally safe way.

Some of your duties will include:

- Develop trauma informed victim recognition statements acknowledging and affirming the experience of the victim in accordance with the Act.
- Use authoritative knowledge of the relevant processes to assess victim needs to coordinate complex victim recognition meetings.
- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver recognition meetings, including venue logistics and travel arrangements.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Technical Expertise

- Experience in direct human service delivery where there are sensitive and complex needs, working from a trauma-informed perspective.
- Commitment to pursuing a culturally safe workplace and organisation and improved outcomes for Aboriginal people, aligned with the principle of self-determination.
- Commitment to trauma-informed practice, including an understanding of the victim services system and the ability to liaise effectively to improve victim outcomes, applying an intersectional lens in service delivery, engaging in reflective practice, supporting and informing victims of crime, and considering lived experience in improving service delivery.

Qualifications

- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in fields related to community and social services, social policy, social work, law, or public administration is desirable.
