The Role

In this role, you will contribute to the maintenance and renewal of the City/'s infrastructure assets, including roads, footpaths, and associated civil works usually related to the Re-sheet program. While the primary focus is on the maintenance and improvement of rural and urban open drainage systems, you will also undertake a variety of other tasks that may include road grading, concreting, paving, earthworks, and asphalting.

You will be required to operate a variety of plant and equipment—such as excavators, graders, backhoes, tractors, and skid steers—and ensure the proper servicing and basic maintenance of this machinery in accordance with operational standards and safety requirements.

This role works Monday to Friday from 7.00am – 4.00pm with a 9 day fortnight (fortnightly RDO) and is based at the City/'s Adam Street depot in Golden Square where you will travel out to site to service the City of Greater Bendigo area.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Skills and experience in either general road maintenance or civil construction work using heavy equipment
- Good communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment
- Knowledge of OH&S and safe work practices

This position requires:

- A current driver’s licence with Medium Rigid (MR) endorsement (Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement is desirable)
- Construction Induction Card, formerly known as Red Card
- A current worksite traffic management and traffic controller’s certificate
- A satisfactory Police Record Check
- Annual salary increases - next increase from 11 October 2025 | 17.5% annual leave loading | Above award wages
- Full time position | Secure and stable employment | Work a 9 day fortnight (RDO)
- All PPE, tools and equipment supplied | Paid allowances | Paid overtime
