What You'll Be Doing:

As a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll provide expert, evidence-based clinical advice to individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams. You’ll play a key role in reducing the impact of challenging behaviours through innovative strategies and a deep understanding of contemporary behaviour support literature.



In This Role, You'll:

Lead and mentor the Positive Behaviour Support team, ensuring professional development and high-quality support.
Offer discipline-specific guidance and quality assurance to our Multicap Clinical Practice and Behaviour Support teams.
Conduct thorough assessments to pinpoint the root causes of challenging behaviours and develop effective, individualized strategies.
Coach and support families, support workers, and managers to enhance their skills in implementing behaviour support plans.
Supervise and support core and proficient practitioners.
Monitor and analyse data to assess and adjust behaviour support plans as needed.
Achieve operational, clinical, legal, and financial performance targets

 

You will also have the below: 

Be assessed against the NDIS capability framework as either a Proficient or Advanced practitioner 
Have high-level interpersonal skills and experience supporting people in situations of high emotions 
Demonstrate a high-level communication skills to develop relationships with team members and stakeholders and deal with issues of a sensitive nature 
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to successfully identify problems, develop solutions and implement these using a logical and systematic approach in alignment with the PBS framework 



What you will have to get started:

Have completed a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable clinical or human services field - ie. Psychology, Counselling, Social Work. Holding a Masters Degree or working towards one in allied Health or Social and Behavioural Sciences will also be highly regarded.
A minimum of 2.5 years' experience in the discipline of providing Positive Behaviour Support 
Experience and knowledge of challenging behaviour and intellectual disability 
Demonstrated experience in coordinating the provision of support to people living with a disability and their families and support networks 
Current VIC Drivers Licence
Current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or ability to obtain
NDIS Worker Orientation certificate completed. If you need to obtain, login to https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au 
NDIS Practitioner registration



Highly desirable 

Postgraduate qualifications in allied health or social or behaviour sciences and or professional registration 
Experience working with people with intellectual disability with high and complex needs
