The successful candidate will support the delivery of accounting, tax, and business advisory services across a diverse client base. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements while contributing to the firm’s reputation for providing insightful, reliable, and high-quality financial solutions.
SN Partners Accountants & Business Advisors: Accountant – Blackburn, VIC
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and compliance documentation for clients in line with relevant accounting standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor budgeting and forecasting models to assist clients in financial planning and performance improvement.
• Provide tailored taxation advice covering income tax, GST, PAYG, FBT, and other statutory obligations, ensuring compliance with ATO requirements.
• Analyse financial data to assess business performance, profitability, and cost efficiency, and prepare reports for directors and clients.
• Conduct financial investigations and assist in audits, valuations, and due diligence for business sales, acquisitions, and mergers.
• Evaluate accounting processes, introduce enhancements to internal control systems, and advise on efficient accounting software or cloud-based solutions.
• Manage and reconcile accounts, ledgers, and journals to ensure accuracy and consistency across all reporting.
• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and income tax returns for partnerships, companies, and trusts.
• Advise clients on business structure, cash-flow management, and capital funding to support strategic growth decisions.
• Maintain and monitor compliance frameworks, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and client-specific standards.
• Provide insights into financial risks and recommend sound mitigation strategies for ongoing business stability.
• Support the partners and senior accountants in mentoring junior staff and improving the firm’s accounting workflows.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (AQF Level 7 or higher).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in public practice accounting or a similar environment.
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
