Position Information

Kingsgrove North High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school in the Beverly Hills Principals Network, offering every student a place to learn, lead and achieve their personal best. The school has a current enrolment of 1000 students with 76% from a language background other than English from 47 different linguistic backgrounds. 17 students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school has seven support classes catering to the individual and specific needs of students with disability. Kingsgrove North High School aims to develop future focused learners who can achieve their personal goals while becoming resilient, compassionate, informed and ethical members of the wider community. Staff have a broad range of experience and skills, motivated to support students' academic, social and personal growth through a broad, relevant and innovative curriculum, catering to student needs in high potential and gifted education (HPGE) programs. Staff are committed to enhancing a culture of high expectations with strong academic attainment through explicit teaching. Kingsgrove North High School offers a broad curriculum with high expectations for strong HSC academic attainment and school pathways, including VET courses. The school is supported in a wide range of community partnerships. STEM is a growing area of student interest, taught in the school’s well-resourced Innovation Hub, allowing strong primary school transition programs to flourish. - A highly visible, collaborative and approachable leader with excellent communication skills who demonstrates success in building a positive school culture, relationships and partnerships that enhance the wellbeing of students, staff and the school community.

- Demonstrated excellence in leading strategic, school-wide improvement in student learning outcomes, grounded in equity, inclusion and culturally responsive practice, particularly for students with disability, from disadvantaged backgrounds, and from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

- Demonstrated evidence in leading the School Excellence Plan through consultative and strategic leadership that builds staff and executive capacity to enhance evidence-informed teaching and learning programs, and initiatives to promote academic growth.

- A highly experienced educational leader who inspires excellence and confidence in Public Education, and who has proven experience leading the aspirations of the NSW Plan for Public Education.

General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P4 for 2025 and Principal Level P4 for 2026.
