Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse to join us for a flexible assignment. You’ll be helping cover hospital nursing duties, surgery, anaesthetic monitoring, client communication and general nurse duties while supporting our vets and permanent nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

- Surgical & hospital nursing: preparing and monitoring anaesthetics, induction & recovery, monitoring.

- Admission & discharge of surgical / hospitalised patients.

- Administer medications, set up IV catheters, blood collection & testing.

- Maintaining surgical & treatment areas to infection control standards.

- Give post-op care and support hospitalised patients.

- Assist with nurse consults / client education as needed.

Requirements

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).

- At least 2 years post-cert experience preferred.

- Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

- Experience with EzyVet or similar software is a plus.

- Ability to adapt quickly and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
