- Remuneration: Meal Allowance + Accommodation + Flights. $42.82 to $52.27 per hour

- Employment Type: Part-time to full time (0.6 – 1.0 FTE)

The Position
We are seeking an experienced Family Support Counsellor with a strong passion and drive to engage and provide counselling support at our Carnarvon office. Support services will be provided to adults and young people on an individual basis as well as in a group setting. The successful candidate will represent the HelpingMinds brand positively and establish close working links with relevant service providers in the area.
This is a sole-worker position. With an office base in Carnarvon, HelpingMinds seeks a motivated candidate who can work autonomously and hit the ground running. The successful candidate will have access to ongoing remote support by the assigned Team Facilitator and the Executive Child, Youth and Family Services.
Responsibilities
- Employ brief intervention models and therapeutic interventions as appropriate for client support
- Develop wellbeing care plans with clients, utilizing a strengths-based approach, discussing mental health issues and applying goal setting and identifying support networks
- Provide workshops and support groups to HelpingMinds clients
- Establish community engagement connections, promoting HelpingMinds and establishing warm referral pathways.
Qualifications
- Tertiary Degree in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
- Current Driver's License
- Proof of Australian Working Rights
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months) – or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children Card – or willingness to obtain
- Current First Aid Certificate – or willingness to obtain
