About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person‑centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
We are currently looking to fill 1 permanent part time position. You must be available for the following:
Week 1
Monday 12:30pm to 7:30pm
Tuesday 12:30pm to 7:30pm
Thursday 7am to 2pm
Friday 1:30pm to 6pm
Saturday 5pm to 10am (sleepover)
Week 2
Monday 7am to 2pm
Tuesday 6pm to 10am (sleepover)
Friday 6pm to 10am (sleepover)
Please Note: It is important to understand that our clients’ needs, and their support plans can change which also means that our roster lines may change and will be confirmed at the time of offer
Key Responsibilities
- Provide behavioural support and follow behaviour management plans
- Full personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming
- Medication assistance
- Safe wheelchair transfers and transportation
- Engage in client interests such as listening to music – big tick if you love ACDC
- Creative activities such as puzzles and art
- Promote client choice and independence in all interactions
Skills & Experience
- Ability to drive a large van for client transportation
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state‑based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Pay rates starting from $34.58 (permanent part time) as per the SCHADS Award
