About the role

The Principal Procurement Lead is accountable to the Manager, Procurement for delivering end-to-end procurement activities (source to contract) that deliver maximum value for TAFE SA. This role provides expert advice to support key outcomes aligned with TAFE SA’s strategic plan.

The role is responsible for leading, managing, and negotiating complex commercial matters related to sourcing goods and services. The role also provides high-level specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders, in accordance with the TAFE SA Procurement & Contract Management Framework and relevant government policies, procedures, and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead procurements from source to contract, including complex and strategic acquisitions, delivering maximum value across complex goods and services categories.
- Provide expert commercial and contractual advice, including managing disputes and resolving complex procurement issues.
- Drive positive stakeholder engagement behaviours within the team and with other stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and professional development within the team, contributing to service delivery excellence and positive team culture within the Procurement & Contract Management function.

Qualifications and Experience

- Proven experience in delivering end-to-end complex and strategic procurements, including contract formation.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform as a role model within a team.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Special Conditions

The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
