About the role.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Document Controller to support major Infrastructure projects throughout SA. This role is critical in managing project documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficient project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in document management on large-scale projects, with excellent attention to detail and expertise in handling technical documents, contracts, drawings, and correspondence in an organised and structured manner.
- Document Management: Oversee centralised physical and digital systems, ensuring proper distribution, metadata application, and version control.
- Document Coordination: Manage workflows, approvals, and communication to meet timelines and ensure seamless documentation flow.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Enforce standards, maintain audit trails, and ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main contact for document queries and resolve issues or discrepancies.
- Archiving & Reporting: Manage data retention, handover processes, and provide regular status reports.
- Technology Management: Utilise and troubleshoot document control tools like Aconex, Asite, or SharePoint.
About you.
- Preferred qualifications include a degree or diploma in business administration, civil engineering, or construction management, or equivalent.
- Above 4 years of experience in document control or records management, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or engineering, and have worked on large-scale projects or major infrastructure works.
- Proficiency with document management tools like Aconex, Asite, or SharePoint, along with the MS Office Suite, is essential. You have a strong grasp of document control systems, standards, and best practices.
- Highly detail‑oriented, you excel at organising, managing time effectively, and working independently to balance multiple priorities.
- Your excellent communication skills enable you to collaborate with teams, stakeholders, and clients, and you're adept at troubleshooting and resolving document‑related issues.
