About the role
The Creative Producer – Children and Families sits within the Creative Melbourne Branch and offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop and deliver innovative creative programs that engage, inspire and connect Melbourne’s youngest citizens and their families.
You’ll work closely with artists, families, and key partners to create inclusive and dynamic programs that celebrate creativity, imagination and participation. Based primarily at ArtPlay, you’ll also help expand our online and “at home” offerings, ensuring access and engagement for all children and families across the city.

- Design, develop, deliver and evaluate a dynamic suite of creative programs for children and families.
- Collaborate with artists to co-create new work through ArtPlay’s participatory models.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program reach and impact.
- Manage program budgets, contracts and artist agreements to ensure delivery with integrity and excellence.

What your experience might look like
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in arts programming, producing or creative project management.
- Proven experience designing and delivering innovative creative programs with, by and for children and families.
- Experience supporting artists to develop new work through collaboration and participatory practice.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, contracting, budgeting and evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write engaging content for audiences and reports for senior stakeholders.
