Proudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency aeromedical and allied health services for people in rural and remote Australia. We strive towards improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities and believe in creating opportunities, so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.

About the Role

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Victoria is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Improvement Advisor to join our dedicated service delivery team. This is a permanent full-time position offering a hybrid working model, (three days in the office and two days working from home) with flexible hours to support work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain, develop, and implement RFDS Victoria’s quality improvement and risk management systems.

- Champion a continuous improvement agenda and promote knowledge sharing across the organisation.

- Prepare reports and data summaries to support committee discussions and decision-making.

- Assist staff in developing and evaluating evidence-based procedures and guidelines.

- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, accreditations, and reviews (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001, National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards).

- Oversee the RiskMan system for incident documentation and manage the Quality helpdesk ticket system.

- Manage patient health record release requests and support investigations of significant incidents.

- Upload and maintain documentation related to quality, risk, and accreditation.

- Provide high-level administrative and secretarial support, including data entry and transferring information between systems.

- Liaise with a variety of internal stakeholders to support quality and risk initiatives.

Qualifications

Essential

- Switched-on, logical, and proactive, able to work independently and think critically.

- Experienced in administrative or secretarial support, with strong attention to detail and comfort with repetitive tasks.

- Skilled in data entry, document management, and report preparation.

- A confident communicator who can build relationships across teams.

- Comfortable working in a project-driven environment with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Desirable

- Familiarity with risk management tools (experience with RiskMan is a plus, but training is provided).

- Experience with ISO accreditations and quality systems in a health or community setting.

- Qualifications in health, community services, or a related discipline.

Benefits

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

- Access to salary packaging options to reduce your taxable income.

- Fitness passport – a discounted gym membership to gyms and pools that both you and your family can enjoy.

- Full-time role with flexible work arrangements to work from home and at our Richmond office, as well as options for purchased leave.

- Five non-accruable Office Closure Leave days each year.

- Great parental leave benefits in addition to government parental leave.

Applications close on 4th November 2025. We are unable to accept late applications, or applications submitted via email. We aim to fill vacancies as quickly as possible; the advert may close before the published closing date. Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Victoria, is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from individuals of underrepresented backgrounds to apply, including but not limited to, those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTQI communities.
