Council of the City of Sydney, Australia Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure Full time

About Us

Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with close to 30 years of industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors.

Our projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation, the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Contract Administrators to join our commercial team and support the delivery of complex civil construction projects across Metropolitan and Regional NSW.

You will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers across roads, bridges, structural works, earthworks and broader civil packages, contributing to the commercial, contractual and financial performance of our Civil projects. This role will involve periodic travel to project sites, depending on project requirements.

This is a strong opportunity for Contract Administrators who enjoy being hands on, commercially switched on and involved in a mix of site based and office-based work.

Key Responsibilities

As a Contract Administrator, you will be responsible for:

- Supporting the commercial and contractual management of civil construction projects (upstream and downstream)

- Preparing, reviewing and maintaining contract, procurement and project documentation.

- Assisting with procurement, including preparing subcontract packages and managing tender comparisons.

- Administering subcontractor agreements, claims, variations and purchase orders.

- Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and reporting required changes or variations to the Project Manager.

- Tracking project costs, budgets, forecasts and commercial registers.

- Assisting with monthly reporting, cost to completes, head contract claims and supporting financial documentation.

- Ensuring compliance with contractual and legislative obligations.

- Facilitating clear communication between internal teams, subcontractors and stakeholders

This is a permanent full time opportunity.

What you'll bring to the Team

You will have experience as a Contract Administrator within civil construction, preferably with head contractor experience. You bring strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and the confidence to work across both site and office environments. Experience in the following will be highly regarded:

- Civil contract administration and document management.

- Cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting and subcontractor claims.

- Building and administering variations and procurement packages.

- Understanding of EOTs, head contract obligations and commercial processes.

- Risk identification and compliance awareness.

- Strong communication and relationship building skills.

- Microsoft Office proficiency and exposure to contract management systems.

- A proactive approach to supporting project delivery.

Why You Should Work With Us

Our people are what make Abergeldie successful and we ensure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term.

We offer a range of employee benefits, including the Abergeldie Bonus Scheme, where all eligible employees share in the benefits of the projects they have helped deliver. When we deliver winning projects, we celebrate success together.

Interested?
