About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate General Manager to lead Emerald Avalon Residential Aged Care. About the role

As General Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the facility, ensuring exceptional standards of care, compliance, and staff engagement. You will provide strong, empathetic leadership—balancing clinical excellence with financial and operational performance, all while fostering a supportive, values‑driven culture.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and inspire your team to deliver exceptional, person‑centred care.

- Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and the local community.

- Ensure full compliance with the Aged Care Act 1997, Quality Standards, and Respect policies.

- Drive continuous improvement through quality systems, audits, and accreditation readiness.

- Oversee financial management, budgets, and resource allocation.

- Provide coaching and mentorship to staff, encouraging collaboration and integrity.

- Represent the facility professionally in partnerships with health professionals and stakeholders.

What you will bring

- Strong clinical knowledge aligned with best practice (preferably in aged care).

- Proven experience in leadership and people management.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Financial management, budgeting, and rostering expertise.

- Experience leading teams through organisational change.

- Minimum three years’ experience in residential aged care.

- Sound understanding of aged care legislation, funding, and accreditation standards.
