Permanent full time position available in our Parks & Gardens team.

Annual Salary from $61,259 to $71,794 + 12% Super. Working hours: 6:30 am – 3:26 pm. Enjoy access to Council's 9-day fortnight arrangement.

Your Position

If you enjoy working on a range of outdoor activities, taking pride in ensuring our public parks and open spaces are maintained to a high standard and enjoy being part of a team, this role is for you.

Your responsibilities

- Conducting scheduled daily and weekly work programs for Parks and Open Space
- Mowing, edging, pruning, planting of trees/shrubs, sports field maintenance, pesticide application, weeding, tree maintenance and other general parks maintenance works
- Operating plant and equipment including whipper, snipper, chipper, ride-on mowers, excavator and medium rigid vehicles
- Reporting all vehicle/plant problems to your team leader or mechanics staff

To be successful in this role you will have

- Current NSW Class MR Licence
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Traffic Controllers Certificate or willingness to obtain
- AQF3 Chemical Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Experience in the operation of ride-on mowers and other small plant (i.e. brushcutters, push mowers, edgers, blowers)

- COVID-19 vaccination (2 Vaccines)
- Willingness to complete pre-employment screening which may include: a pre-employment medical examination and police check
