St Andrews Christian College is seeking a dedicated and empatheticStudent Counsellorto join our Wellbeing Staff in Wantirna South. This permanent part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students. As a Student Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing vital support and guidance to students, promoting emotional well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. Your main tasks will include:
- Offering one-on-one counselling sessions to students, addressing a range of personal, social, and emotional challenges.
- Developing and implementing proactive strategies to support student mental health and well-being.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic care for students.
- Conducting risk assessments and crisis interventions when necessary, ensuring the safety of students at all times.
- Delivering workshops and seminars on topics related to mental health, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
- Maintaining accurate records of counselling sessions while respecting confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to build trust with students from diverse backgrounds. A relevant qualification in counselling or psychology is essential, along with demonstrated experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
