We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take a strategic role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms that drive advanced analytics and business intelligence.

Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our cloud-based data architecture and driving innovation across our data ecosystem, while ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.

You will be required to:

- Lead the strategic design, expansion, and optimization of a secure, scalable, and high-performing data platform

- Implement cloud security best practices within Azure, ensuring data protection through access controls, encryption, and compliance

- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and dbt for efficient data processing

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable data solutions

- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, testing, and monitoring of data workflows

- Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and performance checks across pipelines

- Document data architectures, workflows, security protocols, and operational procedures thoroughly

- Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration between internal and external systems

We are looking for someone with:

- Proven expertise in designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and dbt

- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and security principles, particularly within Azure

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation for data workflows

- Ability to implement robust data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes to ensure reliable and performant data delivery

- Effective cross-functional collaboration with analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable solutions

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset

Experience & qualifications required:

- 7+ years of professional experience, including hands-on work in data engineering and full-stack software development with a strong focus on data-intensive systems

- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience building robust, scalable data pipelines and performing complex data transformations

- Proven track record of designing and maintaining scalable data platforms and pipelines

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation in cloud environments

- Experience working with modern data stack tools including Snowflake, dbt, and Azure

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
