Maintenance Coordinator (Civil - North) – Permanent Full Time. Requisition ID: 3428. RCC Officers' Level 6 (including applicable allowances) + operational use of a Council vehicle. Join our team as a Maintenance Coordinator (Civil). You’ll split your time between the office and the field, coordinating crews and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and cost‑effective maintenance services across the Redlands Coast. Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll provide leadership, support, and oversight of civil assets – from roads and drainage to bridges, concrete pathways, boardwalks, and signage – driving continuous improvement and long-term asset performance across the city.

Responsibilities

- Leading and supporting multiple teams across civil maintenance
- Recruiting, training, and developing staff to build a safe and productive workplace
- Coordinating cyclic and reactive maintenance works to meet safety and quality standards
- Engaging and managing contractors to deliver services on time and to budget
- Providing specialist advice and maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships
- Playing an active role in the leadership team to drive service improvements
- Managing budgets, estimates, and resources to ensure cost-effective outcomes
- Preparing schedules, reports, and project updates to keep works on track

Skills and Experience

- Proven success leading and motivating multi-disciplinary teams in maintenance or construction
- Strong people management skills including supervision, training, WHS, and performance management
- Knowledge of asset management, project management, and contract administration
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and schedules to achieve cost-effective outcomes
- Understanding of contemporary and emerging techniques in maintenance services
- Skilled in building professional and responsive working relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes for the community

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant field
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
- Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and site-related operations (as required)
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision (or equivalent) or significant relevant experience with the ability to rapidly acquire the Certificate
- Successful applicants will be asked to consent to a criminal history check; persons with criminal records are considered on merit
- Legal right to work in Australia
