The Opportunity

Western NSW LHD is seeking skilled GP VMOs with Emergency Medicine experience to provide locum cover across regional hospitals and multipurpose health services. You'll manage a broad range of emergency and acute presentations, supported by experienced nursing staff, retrieval teams, and visiting specialists.

This role is ideal for rural generalists who thrive in hands‑on, high‑autonomy environments and enjoy the diversity of regional emergency medicine.

Clinical Environment

- High‑value exposure – manage undifferentiated emergency and acute cases in regional EDs

- Scope of practice – from primary care to trauma and critical care management

- Strong support – collaborate with local nursing, retrieval, and specialist networks

- Flexible lifestyle – ad‑hoc or block bookings available

- Fully supported locum – travel, accommodation, and hire car provided

Eligibility Criteria

- AHPRA Specialist Registration

- Proven experience managing emergency presentations

- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check

- Australian working rights

- Up to $3,000/day (depending on site and experience)
