Access Canberra is seeking an experienced regulatory leader who can guide the Fair Trading and Compliance branch to deliver regulatory outcomes that support a safe and liveable city.

Within this branch, you will support informed decision-making and seek to reduce harm through proactive programs, public engagement, and investigations. Our regulatory scope includes liquor, security, fair trading, gaming and racing, working with vulnerable people, and agents.

We work closely with other jurisdictions under the Australian Consumer Law to deliver strong outcomes for Canberra consumers.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

- Providing leadership, management and oversight of complex regulatory activities and actions.
- Leading and supporting the development of your team.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Branch to fulfil its objectives and to achieve its goals.
- Preparing strategic and complex submissions, reports briefs and correspondence in relation to a diverse range of matters on behalf of Access Canberra.
- Assisting Access Canberra to achieve greater efficiency and solve organisational problems through its people.
- Understanding and working within the ACTPS Code of Conduct and ACTPS values of respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation, and to model behaviour consistent with the ACTPS Respect Equity and Diversity framework.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

- Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) or similar experience in a regulatory role is highly desirable
