Learning Support Officer

St Christopher’s Primary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Officer to join our school. The successful applicant will deliver Tier 2 literacy intervention programs, including MiniLit Sage and MacqLit and will work closely with classroom teachers and school leaders to support students who require additional assistance in developing reading and comprehension skills.
This role involves working with small groups of students, implementing structured, evidence-based lessons, and monitoring student progress to ensure effective learning outcomes.
The role is a 20 hours per week position working from Monday to Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver MiniLit andMacqLit intervention programs with fidelity and consistency
- Support students in small groups and one-on-one settings to build literacy skills
- Collect and record data on student progress to inform ongoing instruction
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement student learning goals
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Participate in professional learning related to literacy intervention and student support
- Support teachers by providing a consistent approach to learning and behaviour management.
About You
- Have a genuine passion for supporting student learning and wellbeing
- Possess experience with structured literacy programs and/or a willingness to be trained in MiniLit and MacqLit Intervention
- Demonstrate strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Be committed to the school’s values and inclusive education practices
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or equivalent) desirable
- Experience working in primary education preferred
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and relevant child safety training

- working with children check and police check
- minimum Certificate 3 in Education Support or studying in the field of education
