Job Description

The Coordinator IT Service Operations & Security coordinates and manages Council’s Information Technology (IT) Business Applications and Infrastructure Environments. As a SME for Council the role will provide advice, solutions, recommendations and guidance across cybersecurity, IT Infrastructure, Business Applications and related functions. You will develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the organisation’s digital and information assets including conducting regular security audits, vulnerability assessments and penetration testing as well as monitoring the security landscape for emerging threats and vulnerabilities and implementing measures to mitigate these risks. Review and analyse performance measures, target objectives, business plans and KPIs to evaluate performance against benchmarks and to design, develop and implement ways to reduce costs, improve performance and to deliver high quality service across IT.

In this role, you will also manage a team of 5 – staff performance and provide mentoring while encouraging staff to work in a collaborative, learning environment that promotes communication, transfer of knowledge and learning.

About You

- Minimum 7 years of industry experience gained by practical application.

- Relevant formal qualifications in information technology or suitable business oriented degree.

- Certifications in Microsoft technologies, ITIL or ITSM.

- Proven experience in creating and maintaining various technical and operational documents including policies, procedures, user guides, factsheets and documentation.

- Proven experience in implementation of cybersecurity measures, including designing and enforcing robust security protocols.

- Proven experience in the maintenance of IT infrastructure systems, such as performing backups, patch management and hot fixes.

- Proven experience in managing software lifecycles including deployment, maintenance and updates.

- Proven experience in providing mentoring to team members, creating a knowledge and learning environment and developing staff development programs geared toward service desk performance improvement.

- Proven experience in ensuring network system security baselines are met and security improvements are implemented across the LAN/WAN environments.

- Proven experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with the ability to motivate and inspire others with exceptional customer service orientation.

- Driving License Class C.
