About the Role Join the team at Rydges Sydney Airport kitchen team working across The Ascot restaurant, Smithy’s Bar and IRD, where modern Australian flavours meet warm hospitality. As a full-time Commis Chef, you’ll support the delivery of beautifully crafted dishes focusing on Australian produce.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hotel.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WH&S practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow kitchen procedures.
- Passion for food preparation and willingness to learn across all kitchen areas.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with a professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food as directed, including baking, pastry, and butchery tasks.
- Respond promptly to guest needs and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and minimise food wastage at all times.
- Support a culture of learning and professionalism within the kitchen team.
- Maintain grooming standards and positive relationships with service staff.
- Comply with hotel policies, WH&S guidelines, and maintain strong product knowledge.
